Freddie Spencer is to ride at Mallory, and on his old three-cylinder Rothmans Honda GP two-stroke!
The former racing prodigy and two times 500cc world champion, arguably one of the most naturally talented men to race in grands prix, is the first big name announced by the VMCC to be riding at the Festival of 1000 Bikes at the small UK circuit on July 9-11.
The VMCC’s James Hewing claims at least 20 well known names will be present at the event, but Spencer is certain to be one of the biggest draws in the Past Masters and Star Riders on-track line-up. In addition there will be interviews with the riders, public track sessions, pre-65 trials, historic grass track and a sprint demo, 50 motorcycle club in attendance, trade stands and an autojumble.
