Rossi Breaks Leg

By Kevin Ash - 16/10/2010

Valentino Rossi has broken his right tibia in a huge highside crash in morning practice at Mugello.

The reigning world champion is to undergo surgery to repair the damaged shinbone, injured at the high speed turn 13 chicane.

The incident has effectively ended his 2010 championship hopes as he is likely to be out for at least four races, ending Rossi‘s remarkable record of not missing a single race since March 1996.

The speculation now is who will replace the Italian in the Fiat Yamaha team, with suggestions that Colin Edwards could make a return to the factory squad, leaving open his place with Tech 3 Yamaha.
