2010 Moto Morini Granpasso 1200

By Kevin Ash - 30/10/2010

Reports that Italian company Moto Morini has gone bust are inaccurate, and in fact the factory near Bologna has revealed a package of updates to the Granpasso 1200 for 2010 designed to increase its off-road capabilities.

The situation is that Morini has placed itself in voluntary liquidation. This has different implications in Italy than in the UK, being designed to allow a company to continue trading and operating normally while being shielded from legal action by unpaid suppliers. While Morini is certainly in trouble, the reality is, it is still operational and looking for new investors to buy it as a going concern.

The Granpasso meanwhile now features a stronger rear wheel homologated for optional off-road tyre fitment, remapped engine management software designed to improve off-on throttle response, a new and lower seat, higher handlebars, footrests with a removable rubber insert and better heat shielding for the rider from the exhaust.
