I read your comments about Honda's 2011 CBR600F with interest. As I'm thinking of buying one, perfect for roads around Malaga. According to Montesa Honda's Spanish web site the weight "Peso en orden de marcha" is 203kg (ABS 210kg). Anticipated delivery according to Motociclismo.es should be around March time. Also the new Kawasaki 750R looks like being worth a punt! Apparently it will be available in January.

That sounds quite an optimistic weight bearing in mind the Hornet is 200kg ready to roll (which sounds a lot cooler than 'peso en orden de marcha' ... no wonder Spanish pop songs are so dire). But as that's what the Spanish Honda site says I'm sure we'd get the same info from the UK lot.

Despite it being a Hornet in drag I think it looks really cool, especially the white and blue one - if it goes well it could be a big seller. I don't know much about the 750R yet, I've not ridden it, but definitely worth looking at.

If the CBR is available in March then we should be getting the press rides during February.

Re: Honda CBR600F 2011

Just thought I would comment on my riding experience with the new cbr600f. First I think its the best bike for my riding needs. I am a motorcycle courier and cover easily 2,000 miles per month. I am 5ft 8in so the bikes riding position is perfect for me, although I would like a taller screen but I have got around that by putting a cargo 3in1 tank bag on which keeps the worst of the weather off me and keeps my chest warm. Its great on fuel I get between 50-58 mpg regularly. Its brilliant at handling as I am still novice rider its very confidence inspiring.I know it a bit shallow but I love the looks and styling. I hope to get at least a 100,000 miles out of the engine , but not sure if its capable of that type of mileage.

I have had mine for a year now. . . in a word Great !
I have been down the 'blade, R1 etc road and enjoyed it very much. However, I could never really use all the poke. But with the 600 F that's a different story. You can nail the bike and get a rush without going ballistic and out of your comfort zone. The build quality is good, the engine a peach, great power delivery, no snatch, great brakes, first class handling etc. etc. and cheap as chips too !
