Great article in MCN this week Kev!
I have Pilot Road 2's, with the very same line going round them, and I kept thinking, hmm, must ask the dealer about that, it looks like it might be a problem.
Now I know.. thanks! (Or at least, I hope I do. You're probably going to come back and say PR2's don't have this strip, and then I'll have to start panicking again!)

I've had a few comments about that already, seems a lot of people have been wondering about it. Yes, Michelin use it too, Dunlop have something just different enough to be able to file their own patents, but in the end it's all much the same, finding a way of earthing static through the tyres, and it's a modern thing because there's less carbon and more silica being used in compounds these days.
