I am quite sure that the new 2012 Triumph Speed Triple R is all everyone says it is ..... but why won't anyone talk about the 10 tonne elephant in the room????

I test drove a speed triple in September 2011 couldn't fault it at all. I don't have the expertise to take this anywhere near to its limits but for me it was quite an amazing bike to ride.

I would have bought one too but for one thing - I could not bring myself to part with any cash for a bike that has these ugly "stuck on" twin headlights!! Why can't the front end look as tidy and neat as the Ducati Monster 796??

I love these naked bikes and the Street Triple is an other wise a superb bike ..... BUT until Triumph get rid of these double headlights or at least develop a single light option that is as pleasing to look at as the Ducati I WILL NOT buy one.

Perhaps it is only me who thinks this??

Yep, just you.

IMO the lights look great with the cowling on top. I also think they're preferable to a headlamp that looks like a stupid robots head.

Top
