Early Christmas - February 2014

By Caroline Ash - 03/03/2014

Today is Ingrid's birthday. She is now twelve years old, my little daughter, she is growing up. She was not the only person receiving presents today.

After the school run I get home to do some work. I am interupted by the postman ringing the front door bell. He comes to deliver a large box. I am very familiar with large boxes arriving at our house. Kevin used to have this happen lots to him. This box has arrived for me! I can hug the postman, I am so excited. I restrain myself, close the front door and drag the box into the kitchen and open it up.

In the box are the most gorgeous Enduro clothes, all the way from Italy. Jacket and pants in black and white. I try then on and they fit well. The sleeves are on the tight side, but if I slow down on the weight lifting and arm wresles, it should be fine.

I try the boots, all shiny black with closures like ski boots. Maybe I could fit them under my skies, I wonder, and then I could use these boots in the winter for skiing, and in the summer for off road riding. I am a genius! Has the design of these type of boots come originally from the humble ski boots? They fit very wel, with a good roll off when walking and a good profile on the sole.

I had left to try on the gloves till last, as I thought they would be the one item, which would give me grieve. As my hands are perhaps not standard ladies sized hands, it might have been a better option to go for men sized gloves. Now do not think, if you see my hands they are humongously big. I have just ended up with my dad's hands. Not literally. These are ladies gloves, I am trying on, and I am pleasantly surprised that Italian ladies have hands like mine too. Brilliant.

I collect Ingrid from school in the afternoon and we eat cake, as it is her birthday, and then we have our picture shoot together. Ingrid doesn't mind taking pictures of me, as she thinks it is cool to be her mum's photographer, and get credited on the blog.

I cannot stop grinning; this is so good to have received these lovely clothes. It feels like Chrismas. Now I can almost go off road....Just one item missing.... a lid. I hope the postman is soon coming back again.

Thank you Jeremy, for kitting me out. I really appreciate this. Thank you Alpinestars. I will use them lots.
